Standing With Courage: A Salute to 17 Runs

As many of you know, I recently released my most personal work yet—BlindSighted. Writing it was one of the most vulnerably, raw, and honest things I have ever done. For the past six months, I’ve honestly been hiding a bit. It felt like stepping onto a stage fully exposed, with every flaw on display. I’m deeply proud of what I shared… but I am not sure I’d rush to do it again.

So when I see others step forward with similar courage, facing their dragons, looking them in the eyeballs, and choosing to publicly walk the healing path—I pay attention. My respect grows exponentially, and I always make sure to learn from them.

My dear friend Garnet Morris has long been a force for good, quietly lifting, building, and blessing lives. Olivia Chadwick, who joined him in writing 17 Runs, is a beautiful force in her own right. She has a remarkable gift for inspiring people to reach their true potential.

I had the privilege of endorsing their new book, and this is what I wrote:

“17 Runs is a beautiful account of truth, pain, and hope. It’s a glimpse into the power of honest reflection and the sacredness of trying again.”

This book is raw. It’s real. It’s redemptive.

In my experience, I’ve never met a truly great individual who didn’t face some version of deep trauma, often in childhood. That pain can either become the rocket fuel that propels us into greatness… or it can fragment us into fear and struggle. For most of us, it does both.

But the real transformation happens when we face it. When we choose a different path. When we summon the courage to tell the truth and live it.

So today, I proudly stand with Garnett and Olivia. I’m cheering them on as they release this brave, necessary book into the world.

And I invite you to stand with them too.

Let their story move you. Let it wake something up inside you.

P.S. If BlindSighted stirred something in you, 17 Runs will too.

With heart,
Rich Christiansen
